Bay of Fundy

Bay of Fundy is the place where tides are the highest in US: peak to peak variations of water level are 12-15 meters in different parts of the bay.

The western shore of the bay is very steep. The height of the cliffs is 50-150 meters.

During high tide the seaweeds are, of course, under water.

Katahdin mountain

Katahdin mountain, Maine, is a very old eroded volcano. It's height is 1200 meter above the surrounding plain. It is the nothern end point of famous Appalachian Trail.
